#Podcast: The first days of breastfeeding.

In this podcast, lactation consultant Carole Hervé gives you all the keys you need to make the most of breastfeeding. The first few days - essential to getting breastfeeding off the ground - can sometimes be difficult, punctuated by doubts and questions on the part of young mothers about breastfeeding. And rightly so.

  • How can I prepare myself physically and psychologically for a successful breastfeeding experience? Should I be accompanied to the maternity hospital?
  • Is it possible to breastfeed after a C-section?
  • What are the main complications/physical pains I may encounter?
  • How do I know if my baby is suckling effectively?

Often, when you're pregnant, you prepare for childbirth (by taking courses or even just doing some research), but you're not necessarily prepared for breastfeeding. However, lactation consultants and other professionals are there to help you. Breastfeeding isn't always innate, nor is it easy from the start, so don't hesitate to ask for help if you're not sure how to go about it.

And whether you bottle-feed or breast-feed, the choice is yours, and it's your choice that's best for you and your baby. The most important thing is to be well supported, by those around you and/or by professionals, and to be in line with your decisions.

If you'd like to find out more about this subject or would like some support, please contact Carole Hervé and/or consult her book "Mon allaitement sur mesure".
